FOTD: Dark Pink Lips for Spring

Wednesday, September 24, 2014 / , ,

The days are slightly starting to become more warmer, and I can't be more excited for the upcoming spring season! I'm not really sure what my favourite season of the year is since I change my mind!

I've recently sported this look above for a dinner out with my partner and I love the colour of my lips and the subtle eye makeup! I've used here a compilation of high end and drugstore makeup! I love a beautiful dark pink for the spring, I think it's a great colour to wear for a night out! In addition I still love dewy and glowing makeup as well! One trick I did for this look was used my Benefit High Beam underneath my base to achieve an inner glow to the skin!

Products Used:
  • Face of Australia Face Base Primer
  • Benefit High Beam (used underneath my base!)
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser in Nude ( A beaut to use!! loving it everyday!)
  • Daiso Angled Eyebrow Pencil
  • Benefit Gimmie Brow in Medium/Dark
  • Essence 16hr Stay All Day Concealer
  • NARS Eyeshadow Primer
  • Sugarbaby Bronze Have More Fun Eye and Lip Palette
  • Maybelline Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara
  • ELF High Definition Loose Translucent Powder (an oldie but a goodie)
  • Revlon Blusher in Mauvelous (they are super pigmented and last ages!)
  • Rimmel Moisture Renewal Lipstick in the shade As You Want Victoria
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kajal Kohl Liner in Brown
What are you're favourite lipstick shades for the spring season ahead?

Grown Alchemist Travel Beauty Kit

Wednesday, September 10, 2014 / , , ,

Grown Alchemist is a brand that is fairly new to me, to the skincare, body care and haircare market. I first noticed the brand at my local Priceline store. But what prompt me to buy it ages ago was a post on A Pair & A Spare, where Geneva did a post on How To: No Heat Holiday Curls and she used the Grown Alchemist Conditioner in Damask Rose, Chamomile and Lavender Stem as a leave in conditioner...... then I scrolled down the post and noticed that she said GA were having a 25% off sale so I thought why not try a new brand and the travel kit was also used by Geneva as well.

The travel kit costs $69.95 on their website. It's a great travel companion which comes with it's own travel toiletry case.

Grown Alchemist is a lover of all things organic and is certified as well. They also don't test on animals!

From left to right:

Conditioner - Damask Rose, Camomile and Lavender Stem //
A beautiful smelling conditioner that does what a conditioner should do nourish and smooth the hair!

Lip Balm - Vanilla & Watermelon //
This lip balm is quite a gel consistency. The smell is nice mostly of watermelon. I found this balm not so nourishing for my lips but the smell was very addictive not going to lie

Body Cleanser - Chamomile, Bergamot & Rosewood //
Beautiful body wash that smells wonderful and does a great job of cleansing. Its definitely a perfect size for a trip abroad for maybe two weeks!

Body Cream - Mandarin & Rosemary Leaf //
A great not too thick but not too watery body cream that will leave your skin feeling like you left a beauty spa on the weekend...if you haven't noticed all the Grown Alchemist products have great smells!

Shampoo - Damask Rose, Chamomile and Lavender //
Just the same as the conditioner in terms of ingredients it also has no parabens or sulphates which is great for sensitives scalps like mine.

Hydra - Day Repair Cream //
A very nice light feeling cream that can be applied day (and night in my opinion) especially when you travel and you don't want to bring a lot of products, so I would definitely just multi use products even not for their sole purpose

Gentle Gel Cleanser Geranium Leaf, Bergamot and Rose Bud // (decided to include the marketing photo as I forgot to include in the photoset above)
I used this cleanser maybe two times and unfortunately it didn't like my skin at all! I had to do some damage control on this one. With gel cleansers I feel they are most suited for acne-prone and oily skin types but it's always worth a try anyway!

What I Loved and Done This Week #9

Sunday, August 17, 2014 / ,

1//
I've become obsessed with Benefit High Beam this week, wearing it almost every single day to mimic a gorgeous glow to the skin. Pre-Lit From Within Primer days, I use to apply my FOA Illuminator on the tops of my cheek bones, chin and nose areas underneath my foundation. But lately I've decided to expand my makeup artistry skills and use my fingers for extra highlighting on the skin! Say goodbye to dull winter skin!!

2//
Loved the 50% Maybelline Haul at Priceline over the weekend! While I was picking out new products to try my poor partner was scouring the aisles of Priceline to see if there was anything interesting he could distract himself with! I can't wait to film the haul video for you guys!

3//
I've already tried and tested some of the Maybelline products which included the SuperStay Better Skin Foundation, Pure Pigment Eyeshadow and the Elixir lip glosses! I also tried out the Big Eyes mascara. So far it's not bad! Watch out for the haul video for my thoughts!

4//
My slippers...oh I know this is a bit of a weird one to post for my WILAD post but let me tell you, it's so much comfier than just wearing socks, sock and slippers is the ULTIMATE comfort combo! This is what I live in when I'm not at uni or work!

  • RIP Robin Williams, he was definitely part of everyone's childhood memories
  • I think I need to be on a shopping ban from makeup and skincare!
  • I need a new hair straightener, any good ones under $100? Otherwise I might need to just cough it up and get myself the GHD
  • My office shelf is coming along, if you remember in the a previous WILAD post, it needs it's final touches!

My Handbag Essentials

Friday, August 15, 2014 / , ,

Morning beauties, there is nothing like not being able to touch up on your makeup when you are at work or in between schedules! I don't want to have to bring my entire makeup bag in my handbag so I always bring multi-tasking products!

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner //
I believe in facial mists now! This particular gem from Sukin, really helps hydrate and refresh my face (even with makeup on). Usually I hate using facial mist because when I spray them onto the skin, if I've got makeup on, they will tend to make my makeup look blotchy. The Sukin brand is known for using all natural ingredients and contains no parabens, sulfates and other harsh ingredients.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender //
Everyone knows I'm a big fan of this cream blusher by Bourjois. It's a beautiful light rose colour that is super super easy to apply. You really can't overdue it with this blusher. You can also use this on the lips too!

YSL Opium Fragrance//
I got the perfume as a gift for my 21st and it came with a travel size perfume spray, which I have found very convenient to bring when I feel like I need a re-spray of pretty fragrance on the go!

Burts Bees Peppermint Lip Balm //
This lip balm is one of the best that I've tried and believe me I've had my fair share of trying different lip balms. It is very conditioning and it smells fresh due to the peppermint! A handbag must!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream //
The queen of all versatile products! You can use this to moisturise lips, cuticles, soothe dry hands, shape brows and dry patches. For no makeup looks, I love to use this as a natural highlighter on the tops of cheekbones!

Revlon Colourburst Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Cherish //
My favourite shade out of my collection of balm stains from Revlon, it's a great shade to awaken the skin when it looks dull! Due to the shea butter in the formula, it helps moisturise the lips and keep them plump!

Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm //
My favourite hand cream at the moment, it has a citrus smell that is divine and fresh! I only ever have to use this no more than two times a day and it keeps them moisturised all day.

What are your handbag essentials?

Everyday Makeup #2

Wednesday, August 13, 2014 / , ,

I really enjoyed vlogging on my first everyday makeup #1 looked which was pretty basic and something I would do when I don't have more time for this second look. The second everyday makeup look I vlog about shows you how I used a liquid illuminator (which is quite messy sometimes) and also features some new products including NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and REN Daily Supplement Daily Moisturising Cream.

Hope you guys enjoy the video, and comment below what you think and don't forget to subscribe here
